ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE

Ballots for the 2024 General Election will be mailed beginning October 11th through October 18th. Overseas and military voters will be sent their ballots by September 21st.

To vote in the 2024 General Election, you must meet the following criteria:

  • be 18 years of age or older by Election Day,
  • be a United States citizen,
  • have resided in Colorado 22 days immediately before the election at which you intend to vote (Mon. October 14, 2024 at the latest)

You can also vote if you meet the criteria above, and:

  • You have a past criminal conviction and have completed your sentence.
  • You are on parole or federal supervised release.
  • You are a pretrial detainee in jail – or on bond or summons awaiting trial.
  • You are on probation for a misdemeanor or felony.
  • You are currently serving a sentence in jail for a misdemeanor.
  • You were sentenced by the court to serve time in a halfway house (i.e. diversion client).

You may register to vote at any time up to and including on Election Day. You can do so on the Colorado Secretary of State’s website or in person at a Voter Service and Polling Center.

If you want to receive a ballot by mail for the 2024 General Election, you must register no later than Monday, October 28. Starting Monday, October 21, you can visit a Voter Service Center in your county to register & vote, through 7:00 PM on Election Day when polls close.

All ballots must be received by 7 PM on Election Day: Tuesday, November 5. Postmarks do not count.
